Cooking at home means eating more healthfully. And cooking at home tastes better when you have a pantry stocked with a great selection of herbs and spices to season with, so food tastes better. Stocking a pantry with the most used herbs and spices can add up, so what better way to re-stock your pantry than entering to win and herb an spice set worth valued at $100!

Your Herb & Spice Pantry

Even if you have some of these already, how old are they? Did you date the bottles when you opened them? Herbs and spices only last 6-12 months before losing their flavor. A fresh supply, plus some new ones to play with would be great!

I met the nice folks from Cooking Planit in 2011 at a food blog conference. This was before they had released their neat application, Cooking Planit.  Cooking Planit helps cooks build a grocery list, shop, then cook with the timing needed to get everything on the table at the same time. Getting it all done at once is a challenge for most home cooks.

The Giveaway!

When Cooking Planit contacted me to ask whether I would like to give a set away to my readers, I said of course! Nice thing is that 49 other bloggers are participating, so you have at least 50 chances to win! The list of all participating sites is below, so be sure to check them out and enter to win this fabulous set of herbs and spices.

What the Set Includes

The set includes many of my favorites I could not live or cook without, like cumin, coriander, cinnamon, bay leaves, thyme, garlic, oregano, red pepper and Chinese Five Spice. Plus there are fun new blends to play with.

This giveaway includes the following: Cumin, Basil, Saigon Cinnamon, Bay Leaves, Smoked Paprika, Thyme, Garlic Powder, Mediterranean Oregano, Onion Powder, Rosemary, Nutmeg Powder, Red Pepper Flakes, Coriander Powder, Cayenne Pepper, Ground Cloves, Chinese Five Spice, Turmeric, Curry Powder, Yellow Mustard, Pennsylvania Pepper, Cardamon Powder, Cajun Seasoning, Allspice Powder, Hill Country Chili Powder, Ginger Root Powder, and Manzanillo Mexico Seasoning.

How It Works

The 25 Days of Spices starts March 6th. Each participating blog will run their own 7-day contest with a winner being announced on the eighth day.  That’s a total of 50 contests and 50 chances to win! My giveaway will begin on Sunday, March 24th. In the meantime, check out the other sites for details on your other chances to win!

On March 24th, I will post A Guide To Using Dried Herbs and Spices, plus the opportunity to enter my contest to win this terrific set.

This sounds like fun. I have been trying to acquaint myself with unfamiliar spices. I have also been bookmarking SoCal bloggers since they are cooking with what is in season for me.

Wonderful! I’ve been looking for herbs and spices not from the grocery store. Many of these have a twist to them.
