ScanPan CTX Cookware Giveaway

By Sally Cameron on December 16, 2011

food for thought,

My Favorite Non-stick Cookware

As I mentioned in the recent post, Great Gift Ideas for the Cooks in Your Life, the ScanPan is my favorite non-stick pan for making eggs, omelets and other dishes. The other night I used it to make one of our favorite dinners – seared jumbo sea scallops to top risotto.

With the ScanPan CTX, my omelets slide right out and my scallops get a golden crust and don’t stick. I love this pan. It’s the best non-stick I’ve ever used.

Thanks to the nice folks at Chef’s Catalog, we are giving away a Scanpan cookware package valued at $350! It includes a ScanPan 10.25″ CTX Fry Pan and a ScanPan 4-quart CTX Saucepan.

About ScanPan

A little background – Scanpan produces the world’s first induction-safe, certified PFOA-free “green” nonstick cookware of heavy-gauge 7-ply construction. The ultra-smooth ceramic-titanium nonstick interior is superior in the quick-release of foods without the use of oil, and so extremely durable, metal utensils will not damage the surface (although I still use only wooden or non-stick utensils).

The patented titanium nonstick surface developed by Scanpan offers foolproof release. This fry pan sears, browns and deglazes to perfection, cooking methods not achievable with traditional non-stick cookware. Did I tell you I love this pan? When I travel to see family, I even take it with me because everyone always wants me to make eggs for breakfast. Seriously!

These pans are beautiful and heavy made with 7-layer pressure-cast aluminum and stainless-steel for excellent heat distribution. Smooth curved handles stay cool to the touch. The pans are dishwasher-safe, but I rinse with a little hot soapy water, dry and put mine away. They are so easy to clean.

If I were to win these pans, I’d probably break them in cooking up some shrimp and chicken Alfredo with sauteed vegetables, whole grain noodles, and home-made Alfredo sauce. Not the flashiest meal, but with good ingredients and home-made sauce it’s amazing!

Margaret Billingsley | 12/18/2011 at 7:54 pm

Dianne Jacob | 12/22/2011 at 11:44 am

Not to proud to say I have lusted over these pans but am too cheap to buy one! I would make eggs and toast nuts in the frying pan, sauces in the other pan.

Toni McDaniel | 12/22/2011 at 8:36 pm

I discovered your website quite by accident while searching for a recipe for Tuscan ribbollita. Your recipe looks so hearty and healthy, thank you. I can’t wait to give it a try. Cooking on new Scanpan cookware would be an added bonus!

I look forward to receiving your newsletter. Happy Holidays~

Eggs! I raise heritage chickens and my current non-stick pan eats more of my eggs than I do!

Lori S | 12/28/2011 at 10:01 am

I think I’d have to debut those beauties by searing some oxtail and sautéeing leeks in the skillet. Deglazing after each and then transferring each of them into the saucepan for a petite pot of oxtail and leek soup.

Oh I would lobster raviolis in a cognac cream sauce with those awesome pans!

David P. | 12/28/2011 at 7:27 pm

I almost bought one of these pans today… I received a tabletop induction cook-top and need a magnetic nonstick pan to work with it. I make a ham and Swiss omelet very frequently for my wife and I for breakfast, and the skillet would be perfect for that. My wife needs a nonstick pot for turkey tetrazzini due to the quantity of parmesan that goes into it – it would stick to any other type of finish. I’d love to win these!

Deb | 12/28/2011 at 7:40 pm
