Blueberry Spinach Smoothie

This blueberry green smoothie is a nutritious way to start the day. Blueberries, baby spinach, and blue-green spirulina add a superfood punch of nutrition. Use your milk of choice and protein. Nut butters add flavor, creaminess and healthy fat. Whirl in a blender and enjoy.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces almond milk
  • 3 handfuls baby spinach leaves 3 ounces
  • cup organic blueberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina optional
  • 1 tablespoon cashew butter almond or coconut butter
  • 1 serving protein powder of choice 1-2 scoops, see notes in post
  • 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
  • 1 ½ teaspoons raw unsweetened cacao powder
  • a few drops of chocolate liquid stevia optional

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a blender in order given.
  • Blend gradually, getting to high, until smooth.

Notes

Chocolate stevia drops are made by Sweet Leaf, available and many stores, health oriented markets and online. There are lots of great flavors!
