Gluten-free Garlic Toast
Crispy edges, melty parmesan, and buttery garlic flavor—this easy gluten-free garlic toast is your new go-to for soups, salads, and just about anything else! I love it as a side dish in place of rice or potatoes. You might have extra of the butter oil blend, if so it's good on a lot of things.

- 12 ounces slices artisan style gluten-free bread bread notes below
- 4 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- ¾ teaspoon granulated garlic powder
- 1-2 pinches sea salt if using unsalted butter
- 1-2 pinches ground black pepper optional
- 4-5 tablespoons finely grated parmesan cheese
Pre-heat the broiler with the rack positioned at the second level from the top.
Melt the butter, then add the olive oil, garlic, and pinch salt. Brush the mixture over the bread slices, and sprinkle evenly with cheese.
Broil the toast until golden and bubbly. Timing depends on your broiler.
Choose a gluten-free bread that toasts well—either artisan-style loaves, GF sourdough, or baguette-style bread.
Instead of Parmesan try Grana Padano, aged Asiago cheese, or Pecorino Romano, all hard grating cheeses like parmesan.
Serving note:
The number of slices this translates into depends on your bread and how thick you slice it or how thickly it comes sliced. I sliced my 12-ounce loaf (a round French boule) into 1" thick slices, and discarded a thin end slice.
If you live in California, the gluten-free bakery I buy from ships state wide. Check out Deux Pates Bakery. Order several loaves and baguettes and freeze them. They are located in Orange County.
