Ingredients

  • 16 ounces full fat sour cream see options below
  • 2 teaspoons real vanilla extract or vanilla paste
  • 2-3 tablespoons mild honey
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, coconut sugar, or gold brown monk fruit. optional to dip strawberries

▢ Fresh fruit for serving

  • Strawberries, watermelon, pineapple, grapes, cherries, cantaloupe.

Instructions

  • Combine the sour cream, vanilla and honey in a small bowl and whisk or stir together until smooth and creamy. Serve with fresh fruit as a dip.
For added sweetness and crunch, offer a small bowl of brown sugar to sprinkle on berries or dip into after the sour cream.

Notes

  • Use Greek yogurt – For a tangier, higher-protein dip, swap part or all of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt. Icelandic yogurt, or Skyr, is also great.
  • Add citrus – Add a little orange zest or lemon zest for a brighter flavor.
  • Make it dairy-free – Use a good vegan sour cream in place of dairy sour cream. Choose one with a clean, tangy flavor, since the dip is so simple.
  • Use crème fraîche – For a richer, slightly more elegant dip, use crème fraîche (French sour cream) in place of sour cream. It’s thicker, creamier, and has a softer tang.
